Hello again, Friends! This is the second posting regarding my webcomic. I had actually hoped to be farther along in my process, but I had a bit of a setback in the form of a move. I have acquired a roommate, a smaller space, and I have lost my art supplies to the boxes of packed up belongings. I have also lost a useful item known as time. In an effort to make our home more in keeping with our tastes, my roommate and I have been cleaning and painting and creating more chaos than not.
With all of the minor renovations going on, I have little time to do much other than work and sleep. However, I am still actively working on the story and I have already made a major change to the plot. Since my original idea required a bit of set up of the characters first, I think I may have to make my comic longer than originally planned. This of course will take more time for writing and drawing. At the present pace, I feel confident that I will have my comic ready to publish in the year 2045 at the earliest, but I am confident it will be worth the wait!
Last time I shared a bit about the overall plot. Today I thought I would share some character inspirations!

The main character, Miranda, is a smart, curious young woman. She is small and innocent looking which helps her get into places others cannot, but also causes people to not always take her as serious as they should. This is to her very great frustration, but ultimately to their detriment. My inspirations for Miranda’s character are Nancy Drew and Snow White. I will try to have a rough sketch for next time!

Another character I am working on is Detective Dashiell Charles, Dash for short. Miranda will come to call him “Dashing,” which he will hate at first, but will eventually grow on him. Detective Charles is a by-the-book kind of guy and would prefer it if a certain reporter stayed out of his office and certainly out of his investigations. My inspirations for Dashiell are Perry Mason and Dashiell Hammett’s Thin Man detective, Nick Charles.
That is all I have for you today. I will work hard to get some sketches done for next time, but until then, prayers and happy thoughts are greatly appreciated. Also, don’t forget to check out Webtoon and the amazing artists and writers there!
